Anyone doing any good from the piers or the shore in the western basin?

We are gonna try some shore fishing tonight and try a few piers.

Tried shore fishing 1/4/07. started at Catawba with no luck. I talked to a few of the locals and they sad Catawba had been slow since Christmas. Lakeside was a different story. Several fish were caught by anglers right at dark, and right after. Unforyunately we got there too late.

It has been real spotty, They tore them up at the island area early last week.
From what I was told from a customer, there were a few pulled Friday night.
